Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Center is a favorite sports center any time of year. During the winter months, however, Jõulumäe becomes an especially bustling place, where both families and serious athletes love to spend their winter days. The well-maintained ski trails and slopes for sleigh riders ringing with children's laughter await both big and small visitors. Mostly level tracks with occasional undulating hills are quite a tribulation for Sunday-skiers and also provide an adequate challenge to serious athletes. The trails are of various lengths and difficulty, so everyone will find one suitable for them. The track champions of Jõulumäe have been entrusted to organize international ski competitions as well. However, if you don’t want to mount your skis, then a pleasant walk through the fabled snowy forest will always do you good.

A skating hike is a very special thing. Ice emerges on the Varbla islets around February. On the hike you will encounter both ridged ice as well as nice flat skating ice. Thanks to the ridged ice, the area is also popular among the seals; however, we are not going to disturb the nesting of the seals. It is possible to vary the length of the trip between the Varbla islets according to your wishes. The standard length is approximately 15 km.
